Utilize a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from the sun and artificial UV light. Apply sunscreen generously every 2 hours or more often if you're swimming or sweating. Wear clothing that protects your skin from the hot sun. Avoid sunlamps and tanning beds. Sunscreen helps you avoid sunburn of the discolored skin.
