Kasani- Traditional uses and Pharmacological Actions

Kasani is an erect perennial herb which has bright blue, white or pink flowers. Chicory root contains volatile oils that have wormicidal effects. It is used to treat jaundice, spleen problems, digestive problems such as gastritis, lack of appetite, sinus problems. The Unani system of medicine uses Kasni (chicory) as a substance that protects the liver and kidneys.
