The famous herb Bhringraj is also known as Epistle prostrate or Epistle alba, is well-known for its benefits and usage in hair growth. Bhringraj oil is used as various natural remedies in Ayurveda (the traditional Indian system of medicine) for balancing the doshas (body humours). Maha Bhringraj herbal hair oil is commonly used to reduce premature greying and hair loss, promote hair growth, shine, and improve smoothness and strength. Ayurvedic practitioners also recommend consuming Bhringraj oil orally to treat heart, respiratory disease, neurological and liver disorders.

Bhringraj, which is referred to as the 'False Daisy,' is a traditional wonder herb that has been used for hundreds of years to create long, silky and strong hair. It is a creeping herb that can grow up to 3 meters high, has a long stem and white flowers that are solitary, winged, and is 6 to 8 mm in diameter. The bhringraj plant has stalkless lance-shaped leaves arranged in opposite directions and distinctly grey colour roots that are cylindrical.

The nutritional benefits of Bhringraj oil are extensive; it is rich in iron, vitamin E, magnesium, polypeptides, steroids, calcium, and vitamin D. The plant grows mainly in the humid countries of India, China, Nepal, Thailand, and Brazil.
