Medicinal importance of Kalonji

The seed and oil of Kalonji/ Shooneez (Nigella sativa Linn.) was frequently used in ancient Unani remedies in Asian countries and the Middle- East. It is used for medicinal purposes for centuries. Traditionally for thousands of years to treat headache, asthma, bronchitis, rheumatism, fever, cough, influenza and eczema. Raw seeds of Kalonji or mix them with honey or water to increase hair growth, reduce inflammation and treat certain skin conditions.
