Kuchala is well-known as spinal poison in modern science. Each part of this plant is beneficial, root leaves, pulp, seeds, etc. Ayurvedic texts describe the properties, therapeutic uses, and pharmaceutical preparations of this plant. A bitter, tonic, febrifuge root is useful for cholera, intermittent fever, and bites from reptiles. The leaves are used as a poultice for ulcers and chronic wounds, and the decoction is beneficial for paralysis.
