Tamak Shvasa is considered the main disease of pranvahastrotas, and is classified as one of the five kinds of shvasa. Current medical treatments for Bronchial Asthma are symptomatic and associated with side effects. Modern medicine mostly uses steroids for the treatment and management of Tamak Shvasa. In this study, herbal medicine, Pushkarmool, is examined in the management of asthma. Pushkarmool is used heavily in Ayurveda as a bronchodilator .
