Syzygium aromaticum, also known as Lavanga, aromatic flower buds, belongs to the Myrtaceae family. It is known for its Kapha lysing properties and acts as an aphrodisiac in erectile dysfunction due to its tikshnaguna. It is wormicidal and therefore is used in dental caries. Additionally, it also has Deepana, Pachana, Ruchya, Chakshushya, and Kapha-Pittaghana properties and is used for the treatment of cough, pitta, blood disorders, thirst, vomiting, etc.
