Chirayta is an ethnomedicinal herb best known for its bitter taste, which is the result of its containing a variety of bioactive compounds that are directly related to human health. Local people use the entire plant to treat hepatitis, inflammation, and digestive diseases. Chronic fever, malaria, anemia, bronchial asthma, liver disorders, hepatitis, gastritis, constipation, dyspepsia, skin diseases, worms, epilepsy, ulcers, scanty urine, and other illnesses can be treated with it.
