IBD is a chronic illness that results in abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, and bloody stools, and the study included 100 IBD patients during the clinical remission phase. A yoga intervention of one hour daily was provided to these patients in addition to standard medical therapy over an 8-week period. UC patients' anxiety levels decreased significantly. A simplified yoga-based regimen appears to be a safe and effective way to treat IBD.
