DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (high blood pressure). People who follow a DASH diet are able to control their blood pressure levels after two weeks. Diet involves eating more fruit, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, reducing saturated fat, cholesterol, and trans fats, and consuming more whole grains, fish, poultry, and nuts, and limiting sodium, sweets, sugary drinks, and red meat.
